Experienced Chef

Kelburn Village Pub - We pride ourselves on having a great location, a wonderful boutique pub atmosphere, outdoor courtyard, regular quiz nights, a large selection of craft beers on tap, a small supportive well-run team and all with a neat mix of locals, students, corporate & tourist-based clientele.

As part of our team your responsibilities would include:

• Executes our menu & events by cooking guests' orders according to their preferences.
• Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same.
• Acts with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high- temperature surfaces
• Experiments and designs new flavours & specialties for seasonal events, small functions and new menus. We like to support local suppliers & fresh local produce.
• Determines how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at the restaurant.
• Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings.
• Ensures that the kitchen is clean and the equipment is maintained.
• Takes direction and works with the restaurant's administrative team.

In order to be a successful applicant, you will need:

• Excellent knowledge of culinary arts
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Experience managing kitchen staff
• Experience managing stock and ordering
• Excellent knowledge of food hygiene regulations
• A valid work visa
