Sous Chef - Award-Winning Venue in Christchurch
Are you a talented, creative chef ready to take your career to the next level? We're seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join the team at a successful, busy venue in Christchurch. With a modern European-style a la carte menu, this award-winning venue offers a fantastic environment to grow and thrive in the culinary world.
About the Role:
- Hours: 40-50 hours per week, mostly afternoons and evenings.
- Pay: Up to $35 per hour, depending on experience.
- Start date: Ideally early February
Some of your Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Head Chef and Group Executive Chef on menu planning and events.
- Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
- Ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
- Provide mentorship to less experienced team members

Ideal Candidate:
- 3-5 years of experience as a senior chef, preferably in an upmarket bistro environment
- Creative, with a passion for developing fresh and exciting ideas.
- Enjoys being mentored and learning from an experienced senior team.
- Flexible and willing to work weekends and evenings as part of a 7-day roster.
- Currently living in NZ and a New Zealand resident, citizen, or holder of an open work visa only.
