Sous Chef

Employment Type: Full-time – 5 days per week (must be available to work weekends)
Role Purpose
The Sous Chef supports the Head Chef in running a fast-paced kitchen, delivering consistent, high-quality food, and leading the team with professionalism to maintain QUAD’s standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring reliability, discipline, and the ability to perform under pressure.
All staff are expected to work in line with our CARES values.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.Maintain food quality, consistency, portion control, and presentation.
Ensure all sections are prepped, organised, and service-ready.
Guide and support chefs with clear direction and professional conduct.
Monitor stock levels, food costs, and wastage.
Enforce food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas.
Communicate clearly and professionally with front of house during service.
Report maintenance, safety, or stock issues promptly.
Follow recipes, systems, and operating procedures at all times.

Proven experience in a fast-paced kitchen.High level of professionalism at all times.
Able to lead by example and stay calm under pressure.
Reliable, consistent, and accountable.
Comfortable taking responsibility and maintaining standards.
Key Requirement
Must be able to lead the kitchen to standard when the Head Chef is absent and commit to a full-time role.
