We are looking for a full-time permanent Chef (minimum 30 hours per week) who can immediately start to join our team and contribute to our expanding menu.

Suitable candidate must have a minimum two years’ experience or relevant qualification.

Knowledge of a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, street food, biriyanis, kebabs, Roll, South Indian dishes, Indo-Chinese and traditional breads required.

Job type: Full time permanent, Minimum 30 hours per week.
Applicants must be flexible to work on a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, early and late shifts on 30 to 40 hours per week.

Salary: Pay rate $25.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job Description:

o Take an active role in the preparation ensuring that recipes, taste and presentation of dishes are maintained to the highest standard
o Follow recipes and make adjustments to ingredients to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns (when required)
o Portion, arrange and garnish dishes
o Maintain and order stocks and supplies
o Ensuring that stock is controlled and rotated
o Assist in supervising and training of cooks
o Prepare the mise en place for their shift and the proceeding shift
o Check food and ingredients to ensure freshness
o Provide quotes for banquets and functions (catering orders, large parties etc)
o Plan and organize for banquets and functions (catering orders, large parties etc)
o Be aware of the service standards for restaurant as well as functions (catering orders, large parties etc)
o Follow the food hygiene procedures for maintaining a clean, tidy, safe and organized work area
o Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer
o Butchers and cooks animal meat based on the restaurant atmosphere
o Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins
o Cleans up after business hours
o To work efficiently, accurately and with a sense of urgency at all times
o Help lead and inspire our kitchen staff with the Restaurant Manager
o Attend weekly staff meetings as required

o To be flexible to carry out any other duties as required

Health and Safety:

o Report all accidents and safety hazards
o Be aware of all fire prevention and safety regulations at all times and ensure kitchen team members adhere to emergency procedures

o Be fully aware and trained on fire and evacuation procedures and carry out in case of emergency
