Sous Chef

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our team at Chaat Street, where we specialize in bold, authentic, and modern Indian street food. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited about delivering high-quality food with creativity and consistency.
You will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and play an important role in leading our kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and service.- Consistently deliver dishes that meet Chaat Street’s flavour, presentation, and quality standards.
- Lead and motivate junior chefs and kitchen hands, offering training, support, and guidance.
- Oversee food prep, stock management, portion control, and ordering systems to ensure efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure that all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety requirements are followed at all times.
- Assist with menu planning and development, bringing fresh ideas and new twists on classic Indian street food.
- Step up to cover the Head Chef when required, managing the kitchen team and ensuring smooth shifts.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior role within a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong knowledge and passion for food with a flair for creativity.
- Prior experience in Indian cuisine not essential.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, especially during busy service.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and hygiene.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
