Dragonfly is an established well known, busy modern Asian Restaurant and Cocktail bar located in Courtenay Place in our 13th year of operation.
The exciting opportunity of Head Chef has become available.
This position is an amazing opportunity to lead a kitchen with a reputation for food quality, a great kitchen team, strong systems and a busy environment. The role would suit either a current Head Chef or an experience Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
The cuisine is a modern take on south east Asian food, while drawing influences from all of Asia.
We require a Head Chef with experience running a busy kitchen, leading and developing a team, a passion for high quality food and a customer focus. Experience in Asian cuisine would be an advantage but not essential.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Costing and menu development
- Rostering, management and development of kitchen team
- Stock control and food cost management
- Ensuring compliance with OHS and Food Safety requirement
- Excellent communication, organizational and negotiation skills are essential
- Excellent food presentation
- Cost effective product management
The successful applicant will need to:
- Be customer focused
- Be a fully qualified and a motivated chef
- Have proven track record of previous employment
- Be very reliable and hardworking
- Be available to work a mixture of shifts dependant on business requirements
- Have an unpretentious, enthusiastic personality and passion for their work
- Continue the development of the kitchen team, both individually and as a group
- Make a commitment to help grow the business
Dragonfly is open Monday to Saturday from 430pm each day. This is a full time position and is based on 45 hours over 5 shifts.
