This is a fixed term role ending in November 2027.This small, dynamic team supports government agencies to strengthen their financial management capability, focusing on improving outcomes within and across agencies.In this role, you’ll: Support the delivery of programmes and initiatives to improve financial management capability in the public sector.
Help with of reviews of agencies’ financial capability, including supporting the procurement and co-ordination of agency reviews. Assist in the development and delivery of training and development programmes for public service leaders and financial professionals.
Provide secretariat support to the CFO Reference Group and Head of Finance Profession – Governance Group.This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to building a high-performing public sector by providing essential coordination and support.
Ō pūmanawa | About YouWe’re looking for someone who is adaptable, confident working with senior leaders, and ensuring that documentation and communications are clear, timely, and accurate. You’ll bring a proactive and collaborative attitude to the role, along with the following skills and attributes: Graduate qualification and experience in relevant fields such as finance, planning or governance within the public sector.
A strategic advisor who can build trusted and influential relationships with senior leaders (both internal and external). Project management capability, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities whilst balancing pace and quality. Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and concepts clearly, succinctly and with influence Experience working with complex, ambiguous and risky issues, and applying judgements to those issues An eagerness to contribute to delivering results as part of a collaborative team.This role offers plenty of scope for growing your knowledge and expertise while contributing to some of the biggest challenges in public sector financial management.
