Madison Recruitment is proud to be partnering exclusively with a well-established New Zealand-owned business that supplies a wide range of trusted products to leading retail and trade customers nationwide. With a reputation for quality, innovation, and long-standing relationships, this business is known just as much for its down-to-earth, values-led culture as it is for its product range.

They are now seeking a capable and proactive Inventory & Operations Coordinator to join their high-performing, close-knit team. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact in a varied role that requires precision, initiative, and a solutions-focused mindset.

About the Role

This is a key role within the operations function, sitting across inventory management, procurement, warehousing coordination, returns, and admin compliance. You'll be a critical link between internal teams, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers – ensuring smooth daily operations, accurate stock movement, and a high standard of service delivery.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Inventory & Warehousing
  • Conduct daily stock audits and maintain reconciliation records
  • Prepare regular reporting on stock, pricing, and product updates
  • Assist with internal stocktakes, warehouse organisation, and H&S procedures
  • Monitor and action stock movement discrepancies, damages and rework items
  • Procurement & Returns
  • Process local purchase orders and support shipment coordination
  • Manage courier accounts and freight reconciliation
  • Process credits and returns with suppliers, customers, and sales reps
  • Oversee spare parts, bulk returns, and product servicing
  • Administration & Compliance
  • Maintain product, pricing and supplier databases
  • Assist with invoicing discrepancies and document control
  • Attend internal operations and inventory meetings
  • Support wider administrative tasks across the office and warehouse environment
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in inventory, warehousing, or retail operations — ideally within hardware, garden, or trade-related sectors
  • High attention to detail with strong Excel and data entry skills
  • Solid understanding of stock systems and supply chain processes
  • Proactive communicator with excellent problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Full NZ driver’s licence required; forklift licence beneficial
What’s on Offer
  • Permanent role with a respected NZ-owned business
  • Supportive, close-knit team with strong tenure and a fun culture
  • Competitive salary plus birthday leave and long service leave
  • Staff discounts on a wide product range
  • Annual team conference and engaging team activities
