Chef de Partie

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our restaurant, located in Newmarket. The position is full-time (minimum 35 hours per week) and permanent. The employer will roster the employee for 35 or more hours each week. The timeframe for these work sessions will be 11am - 10pm - Monday to Sunday.
The timing of working hours will be set out in a roster.
You will work closely with the manager, and your duties will include overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operation, preparing food for our customers, maintaining hygiene standards, supervising and directing other kitchen staff, ordering ingredients, and menu planning.
Hourly wage between $28 and $32 per hour.
Duties and responsibilities:- Prepares meals for restaurant guests,
- Ensures that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality,
- Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
- Takes part in the creation of the menu for the restaurant,
- Coaches junior chefs and other members of the kitchen staff,
- Determines how much food to order, estimates costs, and maintains an appropriate supply at the restaurant,
- Ensures the highest level of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis,
- Keeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experience
- Maintain food and labour costs to the establishment’s requirements,
- Regularly check food in stock, cooking supplies, tools and equipment,
- Maintain standards for health & safety at work in all food preparation areas.
- Ensure all equipment and work environments are operational.
- Any other duties the employer may reasonably require.
