Our focus is on making a difference through bold thinking, collaboration, and delivering value for the communities we serve.About the roleThis newly created role of Flexibility Lead is your chance to shape the future of energy in Aotearoa.Flexibility is a key enabler for the evolving electricity system.

The Authority has a number of projects focused on flexibility and non-traditional solutions, but these require cross-organisational coordination and cross-sector action to ensure the work can best support the transition and security of supply.You will develop and lead the Electricity Authority's flexibility and non-traditional solutions work programme, ensuring these innovations are effectively integrated into the sector to support a low-emissions energy transition and maintain security of supply.

This includes assessing regulatory needs, advising on project structure and resourcing, and quantifying the benefits of proposed initiatives.Key responsibilitiesYou will support the organisation by:leading the development and delivery of the Authority's flexibility and non-traditional solutions work programme, ensuring alignment with the Authority's strategic outcomes and sector needsassessing or creating regulatory frameworks and identifying opportunities to support or integrate solutions that support a low-emissions, secure electricity systemcollaborating across Authority teams and engaging with external stakeholders to align workstreams, shape project structures, and drive programme outcomes.Are you someone with the following? Experience in the energy sector (or other regulated sectors) with a deep understanding of industry dynamics and stakeholder engagement.

Experience with flexibility, non-traditional solutions and other innovative solutions is a big plusAbility to work independently and effectively handle complex, ambiguous situations with strategic thinking and adaptabilityExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels and connect the strategy with the detail when providing adviceA proven ability to deliver and embed change in a range of environments with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholdersWhy work for us?Electricity plays a critical role in the quality of our lives and businesses.
