**About the role and what we are looking for:**

We are seeking multiple chefs to join our team at Southern Cross Hospital, New Plymouth. These are fixed-term contracts available across two periods: June to July and August to September. Please apply if you are available to work for one or both of these contract terms.

**Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:**

In this position you will be doing:

  • Hands-on cooking
  • Preparing, cooking and serving quality meals and snacks
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen
  • Providing an exceptional service
**He pukenga pai me to wheako ka whiwhi koe / Ideal skills and experience:**
  • You will be hard working and reliable, with a friendly, helpful, and supportive attitude
  • You will take pride in both your cooking and personal presentation
  • You will be familiar with food safety and health and safety standards and able to manage and maintain the company compliance program independently
  • You will have at least 3 years' experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen. You will already hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168)
  • Most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality
