Experienced Mediterranean Chef
If you have three or more years experience cooking Mediterranean-style food including shish and other kebabs and specialty Greek and Turkish dishes, competent using a charcoal grill, able to manage a fast-paced kitchen where everything is prepared fresh daily using original ingredients, attention to detail to deliver meals consistently and beautifully plated, and can effectively manage staff, we would like to talk with you.
A good level of English to read recipes and manage orders and supplier ordering, including online is expected.
Understanding food and kitchen hygiene standards and ensuring these are met at all times is expected, together with assisting in recruiting, training and managing staff.
We are looking for a chef who is able to work with the owner-general manager on menu changes and other improvements to drive our business.
Please do not apply if your experience is only in a fast food restaurant or similar - this is a real chef position, and our style of cooking and use of herbs and spices requires a good level of real chef experience.
Our restaurant is open seven days per week for lunch and dinner, applications must have the ability to work flexibly, based on a roster for a minimum of 30 hours per week, and more during the seasonal peaks.
$27-$30 per hour, depending on experience.
