Position: Chef de partie

Location: Hamilton

  • The employee might need to work at the employer's alternate sites in Auckland, subject to mutual agreement.
  • The company will cover any expenses associated with the relocation.

Number of the position: 1

Employment type: Full-time and Permanent
Days required: 5 days per week including weekends
Hours per week: 30 (minimum) - 45 hours
Hourly pay: $25 ~ $30 per hour
  • Main Duties
  1. Ensure to make customers satisfied with cooking
  2. Discuss food preparation issues with head chef
  3. Freeze and preserve foods
  4. Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  5. Demonstrate techniques and advise on Japanese Cuisine procedures for junior staff
  6. Exercises portion control for all items served
  7. Order food and kitchen supplies and control their stocks
  8. Enforce hygiene regulations
  9. Train junior staff
Any such duties as may be directed, operations or related activities of the business, from time to time.
  • Skills and Qualities Required
  1. Chef's Qualifications and experiences in busy kitchen are an advantage
  2. Minimum three years of relevant work experience required, and evidence must be produced (service in Teppan-Yaki or Japanese Cuisine is preferred)
  3. Full understanding and good knowledge of food industry ethics

The Chef de Partie positions are full-time and permanent. Rostered working hours will be provided, so flexibility is essential, including weekends. The company guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week, but you may be required to work around 40 hours or more, depending on the restaurant's busy periods.

  • Qualification is not essential but applicants with work experience are preferable.
  • Applicans for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
