Duty Manager at Eastwood Cafe
PLENTY GROUP, is a Rotorua based Hospitality Group. We are currently searching for a Cafe Manager or Duty Manager for Eastwood Cafe.
EASTWOOD cafe is located within SCION Research, adjacent to the Whakarewarewa Forest. Eastwood caters to an eclectic bunch of customers - scientists, mountain bikers, tourists, and local Rotorua east-siders out for their daily walk. Three years since opening, and we have morphed into a bustling all-day eatery, offering wood-fired pizzas, an inspiring brunch selection and delicious cabinet food.We also provide daily catering for onsite meetings.
Open 7 days from 8am – 3pm, weekend work will be required.And every Friday night for drinks and pizza.
Our beautiful café space is popular for private events in the evenings.
This position is full time, 30-40 hours per week (we're flexible if you'd prefer to work four days)
This is very much a hands-on position, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of your cafe, to ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently while also delivering an amazing dining experience that supports our brand.
Key responsibilities include:- Running shifts and managing staff on duty
- Leading by Example on the Floor
- Weekly team roster / checking weekly payroll
- Promotional and marketing solutions
- Stock Management and Ordering
- Team Training and On boarding
- Operate and programme point of sale system
- Working with the chef on developing new menu items
About you
You’ll be good natured, have a great sense of humour, and (like us) you’re approachable & fun. Leadership comes naturally to you, and you love to support others and get alongside your team to coach and lead by example.
You will have:- Previous experience in a similar role
- Barista skills and knowledge
- Good decision-making skills
- Impressive time-management and organisational skills, keeping things calm and in control during busy periods
- A positive outlook, great work ethic and genuine affinity for teamwork
- Personal responsibility and a positive ‘nothings a problem’ attitude
- A genuine interest and respect for our ethos around food, health, and wellbeing
- A high level of communication skills.
At least 2 years relevant industry experience. Including experience managing a team and a background in customer service.
