Catering & Events Coordinator

Food Envy is a true Wellington business specialising in events and catering since 2012. We take pride in designing memorable experiences from canapé and celebration dinners; delegate functions conferences; to private milestones and events.

As part of the Food Envy team you will be supporting the catering and event managers, in coordinating the delivered catering orders and the planning and execution of events, plus assisting the office team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of events and catering, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, and - deliver within budget and timeline;
  • Prepare event quotes, hiring equipment, staffing and rostering, runsheets and info packs
  • Assist in determining catering needs, prepare and send accurate quotes, and propose suitable menu options within budget;
  • Work closely with the kitchen team on catering menus that meets the expectations and budgets of our clients;
  • Monitor emails, attend meetings and other office coordination to ensure smooth daily operations;
  • Ensure dietary requirements are accurately documented, kitchen sheets are precise, and food labeling meets safety standards;
  • Manage serviced catering jobs and events as Event/Duty Manager ensuring seamless service
  • Able to drive one our Food Envy’s delivery vans to deliver catering orders within the Wellington region
Key requirements:
  • Minimum of one years’ experience in event management and catering coordination;
  • A tertiary qualification in hospitality event management, project management, or a related field is preferred, though not essential;
  • A full driver’s licence, with the ability to travel to events and delivery catering;
  • Hold a current Manager’s Certificate preferred, LCQ essential;
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with diverse teams;
  • Strong decision-making abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in using computers including general office and event systems;
  • Flexibility to work outside of core business hours and weekends.
