As a **Catering Assistant** at the **University of Wellington**, you will support daily food service operations by helping prepare, present, and serve meals to customers. You’ll play an important role in delivering a high-quality catering service while working safely, maintaining cleanliness, and providing friendly and professional customer service.This is a **Casual Position** where hours of work are on **" as an when"** required basis upon business needs. Therefore, you **MUST** be available during weekends.
**Ko o kawenga | Your Responsibilities:**- Assist with food preparation, portioning, plating, and adherence to the site food safety plan.
- Deliver warm, friendly customer service and respond to customer requests promptly.
- Maintain clean and tidy dining, kitchen, and public areas including equipment and waste handling.
- Receive and rotate stock, replenish supplies, and follow routine instructions accurately.
- Work effectively within a team, follow company procedures, and assist with dishwashing and general duties.
- A team player who can also work independently with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Physically fit, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food service environment.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional approach to customers.
- Flexible and hardworking, with availability to work rostered shifts.
- Experience in a similar catering or hospitality role is an advantage but not essential.
