About the Role
As Key Account Manager - Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles, you'll take the lead in building and maintaining strong, long-term partnerships with major fleet and business customers across New Zealand.
You'll act as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts — driving satisfaction, retention, and growth while ensuring every client interaction reflects the quality, innovation, and prestige of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
Working closely with internal teams, you'll design tailored transport solutions, identify new opportunities, and shape the long-term commercial strategy for NZCD's most valued clients.
What You'll Do
Client Relationship Management- Build and nurture trusted relationships with national and regional fleet clients.
- Serve as the key contact for strategic accounts, delivering exceptional service and communication.
- Understand client operations and objectives to deliver bespoke Mercedes-Benz solutions.
- Conduct regular reviews and strategic planning sessions with key customers.
- Manage account revenue, identify growth opportunities, and drive long-term success.
- Develop and execute account plans aligned with business goals and sales targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and key market sectors.
- Collaborate across departments — including marketing, aftersales, and product planning — to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to support informed strategic decisions.
- Achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
- Prepare and present fleet proposals, tenders, and strategic solutions.
- Negotiate contracts that maximise value for both client and company.
- Maintain accurate forecasts, reports, and account performance data.
- Proven success in key account management or business development roles, ideally within automotive, transport, or aligned industries.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.
- Ability to foster and sustain strategic relationships with corporate and fleet clients.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset with the drive to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
