To assist the Head Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen and in their absence. Key responsibilities would include but not limited to,
- Deputize in the Head Chef's absence
- Ensure all chefs are familiar with the day's requirements
- Ensure the days stock are at the necessary quantities and quality.
- Ensure all staff are treated fairly and equally
- Ensure all hygiene and health & safety procedures are up to date and being adhered to
- Ensure all maintenance problems are promptly reported and followed up on
- Ensure all communications between kitchen and FOH are clear and smooth
- Ensure all chefs have received latest up to date training
- Ensure all food leaving the pass is checked for quality, quantity, presentation and temperature
- Any other duties the employer may reasonably ask
- Good communication skills
- Good personal hygiene
- Honest and reliable character
The role requires the candidate to report to the Head Chef and General Manager as well as having a working relationship with the Head Chef, General Manager, Kitchen Staff, FOH Staff and Suppliers.
