Chef
We are looking for a Chef with a track record of sound work ethic, trustworthiness and the practical skills to fulfil this role. Working in a high volume kitchen to prepare and cook food in a supportive team environment
This role will be approximately 30 hours a week.
Our kitchen is open 7 days a week, so you’ll need to be able to work a range of shifts across any given week and weekend.
This role involves- Making each dish according to recipe, following the recipe to 100%
- Setting kitchen up for busy periods
- Assisting the kitchen manager as required
- Ensuring stock is rotated to minimise wastage and kept and correct temperatures
- Ensuring prep and ordering lists are always being completed each day
Skills & Experience
Ideally at least 1-2 years kitchen experience and a relevant current commercial cookery qualification.
Ability to work sole charge
Ideal candidate will be calm, efficient and punctual and have excellent communication skills.
High regard for food safety and personal hygiene.
Working in a busy kitchen alongside a close-knit team of professionals to create delicious, high-quality cuisine.
Possessing the following attributes:
- Previous experience working in a similar high-volume establishment.
- Good command of the English language.
- Proven experience as a team player with a hands-on approach.
- Experience across the kitchen’s sections.
- Honest, reliable and with excellent time management skills.
We offer competitive remuneration plus 50% discount on food at our venue and flexible rostering. This is a full-time role with a minimum of 25 hours guaranteed per week at our bar & restaurant in Havelock North.
