About the RoleWe are seeking an Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Registrar to join our Otolaryngology Maxillofacial department here at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital.As a Registrar, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of inpatients under the guidance of the designated consultant.You will also be involved in the assessment and treatment of patients with acute surgical needs. While this role is not accredited for formal training, we are committed to providing training experiences that match or exceed those offered in accredited positions, helping to prepare candidates for future formal training opportunities.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe successful candidate will join a team of 2 Registrars and receive full support from 5 ENT Consultants.
You will work closely with 1 ENT/Maxillofacial Registrar, 1 House Officer, and a dedicated team of 6 clinic specialty nurses.Our close-knit team is well equipped and work collaboratively. We provide a mix of Otology, Rhinology and some Head and Neck surgery including a large amount of skin cancer surgery of the head and neck.Hawke's Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary level public hospital in Hastings, serving a population of over 180,000 people.
We offer both acute and elective care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, including paediatrics, obstetrics gynaecology, and more. Although we don't provide cardiothoracic and neurosurgery, we are supported by a strong regional ICU team, ensuring comprehensive care for a diverse patient population.

About you- You're a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) PGY3 or above
- While a previous run in ENT is desirable, it is not essential
- You are registered or eligible for general registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
