Ophthalmology Registrar - 2026 Training Year
Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldier's Hospital, Ophthalmology Registrar
- Permanent, Full-time, rostered including on-call shifts
- Minimum 6 month or ideally 12 month placement
The 2026 training year commences on 2 February and mid-year starts 3 August.
You will enjoy a wide variety of outpatient care, alongside theatre experience and occasional inpatient care. Our registrar team have a variety of responsibilities including running the acute clinic services. They also work alongside SMOs in clinic, minor procedures and the operating theatre.Our registrars are also able to work in laser clinic and anti-VEGF injection clinics. On call duties expect our registrars to work with inpatient cases and the emergency department.

On-call duties include managing inpatient cases and responding to emergencies in the emergency department.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe successful candidate would join a team of 5 Registrars, you will have the full support of 3 Specialist Consultants and work closely with 1 House Officer.

- You're a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) PGY3 or above
- You are registered or eligible for general registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
