The Role

The Contracts Manager leads and manages a portfolio of projects and people, ensuring successful delivery, achieving client expectations and business revenue and margin targets. Demonstrate excellent leadership, sound commercial and contractual practices whist supporting their team with problem-solving and decision-making skills, and providing the necessary direction and management to Delivery teams.

This is a fast paced and important role within the Construction team and requires an energetic team player who is able to provide leadership to numerous project teams. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will have an exemplary track record of being able to co-ordinate multiple priorities at the same time, while achieving a quality outcome.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Owning Project Delivery – Ensuring projects are safely completed on time, within budget, while meeting client expectations with sound commercial, financial and business practices
  • Leading Project Teams – Providing leadership and direction to ensure smooth project execution.
  • People Management - skills in developing, coaching and mentoring others
  • Resource Organisation – Overseeing planning, scheduling, and resource allocation (both direct resource and subcontracted) to balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strengthening Industry Partnerships – Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, design teams, suppliers, and subcontractors for long-term success and market opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
  • Formal Qualification – preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge in NZS 3910
  • Proven civil construction experience – Particularly in structures, rail and/or urban infrastructure projects.
  • Strong track record – delivering complex civil projects on time and within budget
  • Strong Project Management Skills – across safety, contracts, financial management, programming and stakeholder management.
  • Technical Proficiency – Strong computer literacy and familiarity with construction management software.
  • Collaborative and Solutions-Focused Attitude – Someone who adds value and takes ownership of projects.
