About the roleStarship Child Health is looking for an interim Service Clinical Director for Te Puaruruhau.This role is 0.3 FTE and for up to 12 months, pending a permanent leadership appointment.Please note that any additional clinical components of the job will be determined in collaboration with you.About YouWe are seeking an experienced and capable leader who brings:· Proven leadership capability in a complex healthcare setting· A strong commitment to quality, safety, equity, and clinical governance· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills· A sound understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in service planning, governance, and delivery· Experience and demonstrated understanding of Child Protection clinical servicesThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the operational delivery of the service.
This includes ensuring both clinical and cultural safety, overseeing performance, and fostering an environment where excellence in care can thrive. You will also lead and support the workforce, promoting high standards of practice and professional conduct.About the team/service/locationTe Puaruruhau is Te Toka Tumai’s specialist service for children and young people (0–18 years) who may have experienced abuse or neglect.The name Te Puaruruhau means “sheltering of the bud,” reflecting the service’s commitment to protecting and nurturing tamariki.Te Puaruruhau provides local, regional, and national services, including a 24/7 urgent medical response for acute abuse cases, nursing and social work assessments, and forensic examinations related to suspected physical or sexual abuse or neglect.
