Robinsons is looking for a Civil Project Manager to join our high-performing team.

We complete the full scope of civil and landscape works, taking projects from start to finish with a particular focus on quality, client satisfaction and going the extra mile.

The Role - We are seeking a skilled candidate to join our experienced project management team as we continue to grow. Your focus will be on leading civil projects from planning through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

This role is split between site and office, and includes regular site visits and client/Engineer meetings. Our projects include a wide variety of civil and landscape work, with a mixture of government, commercial and residential projects ranging from small private projects to multi-year major civil works over $5m+.

Your responsibilities would include:
  • Planning and programming works, developing and maintaining construction programmes and look-aheads
  • Supporting supervisors, site teams and subcontractors to successfully execute the physical works and understand resource requirements etc.
  • Set out and survey
  • Identifying risks and value engineering options and coming up with solutions
  • Overseeing H&S, environmental, and quality systems (SSSP, ITPs, inspections, testing, as-builts)
  • Coordinating and meeting with clients, Engineers, councils, and utility providers; managing permits and approvals
  • Managing design and scope changes, time, variations and other contract functions
  • Estimating scope and design changes, with support from the pricing team
  • Ensuring timely project close-out and handover documentation
  • Helping build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders
Skills:
  • Experience managing large scale ($1m+) civil projects with multiple design and stakeholder inputs
  • Excellent team player, works well with others and focuses on building positive relationships with staff, clients, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Strong planning, programming, and organisational skills; able to look ahead and manage constraints
  • Strong commercial acumen (claims, measures, variations, NZS 3910 understanding) with high attention to detail
  • Confident with quality systems (ITPs, testing requirements, as-built capture etc.)
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly with MS Office; programme tools (e.g., MS Project/Primavera) a bonus
  • Strong problem-solving skills, forward-thinking and adaptable
  • Good time management and able to handle pressure, a varied workload and prioritise effectively
  • Willingness to learn from others and provide mentoring
