This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.The remuneration range for this role is $80,369 to $113,462 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.This is a fixed-term position until August 2027.The opportunityIn this role you will play a critical part in ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of Wellington Water's business activities.

The Financial Accountant is the go-to person for all queries relating to statutory obligations, PBE accounting standards, and audit and taxation requirements.You will:Prepare statutory financial statements and contribute to annual and half-year reportsDeliver accurate month-end close processes including journals, accruals, reconciliations and fixed assetsMaintain balance sheet integrity and support high-quality internal and external reportingSupport audit and taxation requirements including GST, FBT and income tax filingsProvide financial insights and technical accounting advice to finance partners and the wider businessAbout youYou are a confident and capable financial accountant who is comfortable operating at pace.

You can quickly get across new environments and take ownership of core financial accounting responsibilities.As the key point of contact for financial accounting, you bring strong technical judgement, attention to detail and the confidence to work directly with auditors, advisors and internal stakeholders.
