Office Co-ordinator
Auckland
After many years as the steady heart of the company, our much-loved team member is retiring—and we’re looking for someone to take up the mantle of keeping everything running smoothly and helping make MSM a great place to work.
Morris Sheetmetal Works is a friendly, hands-on jobbing shop in Auckland. Our small, tight-knit team specialises in practical, custom sheet metal solutions. From quick adjustments to intricate, high-value projects, we pride ourselves on clever ideas and reliably excellent work. But at the heart of everything we do are genuine relationships—both within our team and with each of our clients.
About you:
- You're the kind of person who knows everyone's name—and probably their dog's name too. You’re organised without losing the human touch, detail-oriented but able to see the big picture. Being the trusted first face of our company feels natural to you. You're decisive, proactive, and happiest when you're making sure everything runs smoothly.
- You're comfortable wearing multiple hats. In fact, you thrive on it—answering calls, helping clients, managing financial details, and noticing things that others overlook. If something needs attention, you’ll spot it before being asked, and you'll ensure it gets sorted promptly.
- We don’t expect you to know sheetmetal today—but we do expect you to care enough to learn. Over time, you’ll become the kind of person who knows which jobs we say yes to, and why.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as our primary customer contact—phone calls, emails, walk-ins. You’ll quickly build friendly, personal relationships, ensuring our clients always feel valued.
- Managing financial admin and paperwork—payroll, invoicing, supplier dockets, and chasing payments.
- Keeping the office running—tracking jobs, maintaining records, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
- Building structured, personal relationships with our regular customers—you’ll know their preferences, quirks, and needs, so no one feels forgotten.
Your key strengths:
- Detail-focused and organised: you're meticulous and reliable with financial and operational admin.
- Friendly and engaging: you genuinely care about people and relationships.
- Decisive and proactive: you spot things before being asked and get them done.
- Office anchor: you’re consistently available and steady, supporting others while they’re out on the floor or on the road.
Why you’ll love this role:
- You'll be central to our business, the one keeping all the wheels turning.
- Your work is genuinely varied and valued—no two days are identical.
- You’ll be joining a supportive, collaborative team who appreciates and relies on your unique skills.

We'd love to hear from you. Please send us your CV and tell us a bit about why this sounds like your ideal job.
