Skilled Chef Wanted

Chef – Full-Time Position

Pay Rate: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

We are a busy and well-established Chinese restaurant located in Auckland CBD, specialising in authentic Chinese cuisine and handmade noodles. We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our team and contribute to the continued success and growth of our restaurant.

• Plan, develop, and update menus, including determining food pricing and introducing new dishes to enhance customer experience and business performance.
• Prepare, cook, and present a variety of authentic Chinese cuisine and ramen dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Supervise daily kitchen operations and maintain food quality, presentation, portion control, and service standards.
• Train, guide, and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen performance and adherence to established procedures.
• Manage stock ordering, inventory control, food costs, and minimise wastage.
• Monitor kitchen productivity and assist in improving operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
• Work closely with management to support menu innovation, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

• At least one year of full-time relevant Chef experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine, noodle preparation, and ramen cooking techniques.
• Experience in menu planning, kitchen supervision, and staff training.
• Good understanding of food safety, stock control, and cost management.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
• Relevant cookery qualification is advantageous.
