The Karori Business Improvement District (BID) is seeking a dynamic and motivated BID Manager to lead and support Karori’s business community. This is an exciting opportunity to drive local business engagement, marketing, events, and strategic initiatives to enhance Karori’s economic vibrancy.

About the Role:

As the BID Manager, you will be responsible for managing business relationships, marketing and branding, public relations, financial oversight, and advocacy efforts. You will work closely with local businesses, Wellington City Council, government agencies, and media to ensure Karori is a thriving business hub.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to support business growth and engagement
  • Manage marketing, branding, and promotional campaigns to enhance business visibility
  • Oversee events, sponsorships, and networking opportunities for local businesses
  • Act as the primary liaison with Wellington City Council and key stakeholders
  • Advocate for Karori businesses through lobbying and policy submissions
  • Manage media relations, website updates, and digital communications
  • Ensure financial accountability, budgeting, and BID reporting
Who We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in business development, marketing, or stakeholder engagement
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills and initiative
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Experience in event management, sponsorships, or public relations (desirable)
  • Financial management and budgeting knowledge (preferred)
  • Familiarity with government processes and advocacy (a plus!)
