Clinical Service Manager - Counties Manukau - Pacific Healthat Te Whatu Ora -
As a senior leader, you will drive quality improvement, collaborate with key stakeholders, and oversee cultural competency training to enhance healthcare outcomes. You will play a key role in delivering the Pacific Health Action Plan, supporting workforce development, and implementing patient-informed quality improvement programmes.
This role is located in Counties Manukau and requires the successful candidate to be living in that region to support the requirements of the role. About the Team/Service/ Location This role is part of the Pacific Health Operations & H&SS Improvement team at Health New Zealand, supporting efforts to enhance healthcare access and outcomes for Pacific communities in the Counties Manukau region.
Focused on operational excellence and service improvement, the team works closely with stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, foster culturally responsive healthcare, and implement innovative solutions that meet the needs of Pacific patients and their families.
Reporting to the Head of Operations Pacific & H&SS Improvement, this position plays a vital role in ensuring health services are effective, inclusive, and aligned with the organisation's vision for equitable care. Join a team dedicated to making a real difference in Pacific health.
About you You have a strong understanding of Pacific health needs, sector requirements, and funding processes, ensuring effective service planning and provider development. With experience in managing projects, leading teams, and delivering training, you bring strategic insight and the ability to drive meaningful change.
Your excellent networking skills, diplomacy, and sensitivity allow you to build trusted relationships across sectors, while your well-developed communication and interpersonal abilities support collaboration and impact. A skilled change leader, you navigate challenges with confidence, using funding decisions strategically to achieve sustainable health outcomes for Pacific communities.
Extensive experience managing resources, including staff working within a cultural service Experience in teaching/tutoring Qualified registered health professional / clinician with a postgraduate tertiary qualification in a relevant area of clinical practice (Primary Health) NZ registration and current APC (without conditions) Health Management diploma and/or relevant level of experience Experience operating and leading within a Multi-Disciplinary Team environment Familiar with a patient and Whanau/Fanau centred practice approach with strong health literacy and empowerment skills Demonstrated ability to engage with Pacific patients, family and communities Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
