Christchurch - South Island Operations Manager
The Company
As one of New Zealand’s leading specialised hire companies, we supply a wide range of elevated working platforms (EWP) such as scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and knuckle booms to the construction industry. Established in Christchurch in 1994 with a small portfolio of machinery, we now supply over 1,300 pieces of equipment nationwide.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our South Island branches, while being based at our Christchurch branch.
This is a key leadership role focused on providing technical knowledge, operational mentoring, and strong support for branch teams across the South Island. Training and staff development will be central to this role as we continue to grow and deliver outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide full operational support and mentoring, including technical advice to staff across all South Island branches.
- Code monthly supplier invoices and manage month-end processes.
- Monitor the South Island fleet to ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met in line with best practice.
- Drive optimum utilisation of equipment by ensuring company processes are followed.
- Oversee branch staff to ensure accountability and strong performance.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
- Liaise with service agents and suppliers as required.
- Strong leadership skills with previous staff management experience.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- A high level of professionalism and confidence in decision-making.
- Ability to mentor, guide, and develop team members.

This position is based in Christchurch and will require regular travel to our South Island branches.
