Traffic Management (TM) Operations Manager / Traffic Management Plan (TMP) Designer
Christchurch/Dunedin
We're looking for two key traffic management roles to join a growing, group-backed company leading the way in NZGTTM risk-based traffic management. Both positions offer hands-on, dynamic responsibilities, career progression, and the chance to make a real impact on major South Island projects.

Traffic Management Operations Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily planning, scheduling, and delivery of TTM services to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant execution
- Manage and mentor operational staff and field crews, providing clear direction and support
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and long-term retention
- Drive branch or project performance to achieve operational targets and KPIs
- Champion the transition from CoPTTM to the new NZGTTM risk-based approach to improve safety and operational outcomes
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in temporary traffic management, civil infrastructure, or construction operations
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Strong planning, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities
- Full Class 1 driver's license (Class 2 preferred or ability to gain)
- Safety-minded, proactive, and committed to risk-based processes TMP Designer Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of TMP design, ensuring plans are safe, compliant, and practical
- Collaborate with operational teams and clients to develop, review, and update TMPs
- Ensure all TMPs meet CoPTTM / NZGTTM risk-based requirements
- Support operational staff in implementing TMPs on-site and solving practical traffic management challenges
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of TMP processes and documentation
- Help guide the branch's transition from CoPTTM to NZGTTM risk-based approach
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in TMP planning/design or STMS with traffic management experience
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and document management skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with operational teams
- Current STMS qualification and full Class 1 driver's license (Class 2 preferred or ability to gain)
- Safety-minded, proactive, and committed to risk-based processes
