Parla is a Turkish / Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant soon opening in Island Bay. It is the younger, slightly quirkier sibling to Kisa, rooted in Anatolian warmth and bringing a bright energy to Wellington’s Island Bay community.
Guided by Middle Eastern flavours and premium New Zealand produce, Parla will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner Tuesday through Sunday in a relaxed suburban setting. Parla is an intimate space, seating just 38 guests, plus outdoor seating and a takeaway window.We aim to bring energy, warmth, and a fantastic quality offering to Island Bay.

Parla opens in early July, with recruiting now and start dates to follow shortly.
Parla is closed on Mondays but opens from 8 am to offer Island Bay innovative and delicious brunch, lunch, and dinner.
You’ll need to present with:- Chef experience at reputable, busy establishments.
- Relaxed, confident and positive attitude with high energy levels and resilience
- Quality cooking. We expect every plate, every time, to be at an excellent standard.
- Stocktaking and stock rotation skills, with a good understanding of kitchen financials, we will provide training.
- Willingness to upskill and train junior team members
- Ability to handle pressure and busy periods
- A desire to learn and progress
- A good understanding and management of dietary requirements
- Embody our values, be a genuinely good person who wants to come to work each day, and contribute to a positive and supportive restaurant
- A high standard of personal hygiene and cleanliness, and an understanding of the importance of our food safety plan
- Flexible availability across a seven-day work roster. We can work around other
commitments.
You do not need experience in Mediterranean cuisine.
