Sous Chef
Simmer is looking for a sharp career chef to join our experienced team at our busy cafe in Churton Park. We make all food daily on site from baking our own breads, bagels, paninis and cakes, smoking our own salmon, making mayos & hollandaise, gnocchi & pasta - and you will be involved in all of this: baking, making counter food, and working hot & cold sections during service.
We need someone with a passion for fresh, delicious food and creating an exceptional experience for our diners, along with decent experience in a fast-paced kitchen. A cafe style or bistro chef would probably be best suited due to the range of food.We have a comprehensive menu and counter food selection, and there will be room for you to input on these menus. Due to being a small kitchen team, and us being open seven days, working weekends is a non-negotiable.
You will need to:
- Have experience in a busy kitchen, and be able to work quickly
- Be keen on creating some great food
- Be reliable & hard working
- Be able to manage your time efficiently
- Not be afraid to bake or clean
- Write and complete a prep list
- Place orders
- Complete a food control plan
- Have a healthy team attitude
- Bring the best you to the kitchen
