At Compass Group we have partnered with Air New Zealand as one team to create an incomparable lounge experience that people value and remember and as such, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Permanent Full-Time Sous Chef to join our team at the stunning and award-winning Air NZ - Lounge in Auckland Airport

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

• Supervise the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Prepare, cook, and present food, ensuring quality control and portioning.
• Receive and store kitchen supplies, maintaining inventory and stock rotation.
• Maintain consumer satisfaction by exceeding expectations and gathering feedback.
• Apply catering control principles to minimize waste and ensure efficient food storage and processing.

He korero mou / About you:

• NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or equivalent.
• Previous experience cooking in a similar environment and supervising staff.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and professional manner.
• Team player with the ability to work autonomously.
• Good communication skills, physically fit, and reliable.
