Location Otahuhu, Auckland

Our pay: $30-$35 per hour

We are a well-loved restaurant located in Otahuhu, Auckland.

We are looking for a full-time permanent pastry chef to join our team.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Measure and combine ingredients and raw materials using hands/hand tools and other equipment to make doughs for traditional Chinese pastry food – dumplings, wontons, and other pastry foods.
• Measure, mixing and portioning dough and fillings
• Check the quality of the ingredients and the prepared raw materials to make sure quality standard are met
• Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure consistent production
• Set, adjust and monitor steamer and other cookware’s temperatures to ensure proper steaming and cooking time
• Take out the pastry food from the trays, steam grids, unloading, de-panning and cooling the finished products
• Decorate and adjust the display of the finished products
• Test the finished products to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality requirements
• Clean and restock workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
• Check the cleanliness of equipment and operation of machines before each run, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Skills and experience needed:

• At least one year of relevant work experience in the same field/industry, OR
• A relevant level 4 diploma or an equivalent qualification
