Pastry Cook

Minimum Hours per week: at least 30 hours per week

The Pastry Cook specialised in Cheesecake will be responsible for preparing, baking, decorating, and presenting a variety of premium cheesecakes and other baked goods according to established recipes and shop standards. The role requires attention to detail, consistency in quality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure and mix ingredients accurately following standard recipes and bakery formulations.
• Prepare and bake a variety of cheesecakes and other dessert items, including crusts, fillings, toppings, and decorations.
• Operate and maintain commercial baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and refrigeration units.
• Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure products are baked to perfection.
• Decorate cheesecakes using piping, glazing, fruit arrangement, and other finishing techniques.
• Ensure products are visually appealing and consistent in taste, texture, and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the food preparation and storage areas, in compliance with food safety standards.
• Assist in developing new cheesecake flavours and seasonal specials based on customer preferences and trends.
• Label and store baked items appropriately, including date rotation and stock control.
• Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations at all times.

Skills and Experience Required:

• At least two years of relevant experience.
• Sound knowledge of baking methods, ingredients, and cake decoration techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes with precision and produce high-quality products consistently.
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and presentation skills.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays if required.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual kitchen tasks.
