Mō te tūnga | About the roleAs the SAP Technical Consultant at the Department of Corrections, you will play a pivotal role in delivering technical solutions for ongoing projects/BAU across the organisation.

You will collaborate within a dynamic and high-performing SAP product team, using the latest SAP technologies, including S/4HANA, BTP, to deliver innovative solutions.

You will work closely with functional consultants to align technical solutions with departmental needs and ensure projects are delivered on time and with quality.Key responsibilities include, transforming functional requirements to technical specifications, developing, testing new features in SAP and follow SAP development best practices.

Investigate, analyse complex problems; and resolve critical issues.

You'll have the opportunity to work with a skilled team of functional consultants, take an active role in making technical decisions, and drive the team's success through your expertise in SAP development.This role offers significant opportunities for growth and learning, as the Department is at the forefront of SAP implementation in the public sector, having undergoing a major transformation in 2026.

We're looking for someone with solid experience in SAP development who can ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceTo be successful in this role you will have:Extensive experience with SAP development skills.
Lead and own the entire development process, from designing and implementing user-friendly UIs to developing robust back-end functionalities.

Design, code, test and assure quality of complex product features via Agile techniques.Experience with the latest SAP ABAP development methodologies including CDS view, UI5/Fiori, oData, REST, etc.Strong interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships and communicating effectively.

Ngā painga | The benefitsThe midpoint of the salary range is $155,285 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $131,993
  • $186,342 per annum.
Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
