This role will play a critical role in connecting people with the right addiction treatment pathways as they transition from custody into the community. This is a full-time fixed-term 12-month opportunity based at our National Office in Wellington CBD.Mō te tūnga | About the roleThis is a national-level role within the Pae Ora group, acting as the key link between Corrections and community residential AOD providers.You'll be responsible for ensuring people receive timely, high-quality addiction assessments and are matched to the right programmes to support their rehabilitation and reintegration.Key responsibilities include:Conducting comprehensive AOD assessments (face-to-face and via AVL)Determining treatment needs in relation to substance use disorder using DSM-5 criteria and recommending appropriate programmesManaging referrals and placements across community residential servicesSupporting smooth transitions from prison-based to community-based careBuilding strong relationships with providers, health partners, and internal stakeholdersContributing to service quality, performance monitoring, and continuous improvementNgā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceYou're an experienced AOD professional who combines clinical expertise with strong relationship management and system thinking.You'll have:Advanced knowledge of AOD assessment tools and treatment pathwaysExperience applying DSM-5 criteria in practiceStrong stakeholder engagement skills across health, justice, and NGO sectorsAbility to manage competing priorities and complex referral pathwaysA commitment to culturally responsive practice, including working effectively with Māori and incorporating whānau perspectivesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityEssential requirementsA recognised addiction qualification or relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. nursing, social work, counselling, medicine)DAPAANZ registration (or eligibility)Full, clean driver licenceWillingness to travel nationallyNgā painga | The benefitsThe salary range is $104,985 - $148,214.
