Indian Head Chef
Miramar, Wellington | $29–$35 p/h | Full-Time | Tuesday–Sunday
About the Role
We’re after a hands-on Head Chef who’s confident in Indian and fusion cuisine. You’ll run evening service, oversee all kitchen operations, and work closely on menu development. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in leading a team and creating bold, high-quality food in a casual dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily prep and evening service
Maintain food quality, safety, and kitchen hygiene
Manage stock ordering, inventory, and food costs
Train, supervise, and motivate junior kitchen staff
Design and refine seasonal Indian fusion menus
Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
Who We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and fusion-style cooking
Calm, organised, and efficient under pressure
Confident team leader with a positive, supportive attitude
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Culinary qualification preferred (not essential)
Must have open work rights in New Zealand — please state visa type when applying
