Full-time Chef de Partie role
Milenta is an award-winning restaurant in Auckland's Victoria Park precinct.
Opened in March 2022, and described by Viva magazine’s Jesse Mulligan as his ‘number one place to spend a balmy Auckland evening’, we are looking for world-class staff to join our experienced close-knit hospitality team. Fire and smoke feature heavily in our dishes, and our custom wood grill is the star of our open kitchen.

Currently we have a permanent, full-time role available for an experienced Chef de Partie.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring consistent high quality and efficiency.
Pay range is $30-$32 per hour based on experience, with the opportunity to move up in your kitchen career.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
Preparing and cooking food items to the highest standards, as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
Managing and overseeing a designated kitchen sectionMonitoring stock levels and ordering supplies for the section to minimise waste.
Ensuring all food safety and hygiene procedures are strictly adhered to in line with New Zealand regulations.
Collaborating with the wider kitchen team to maintain a smooth and efficient service during busy periods.
Training junior kitchen staff or apprentices within the assigned section.
Contributing to menu development and maintaining high standards of food presentation.
Days and Hours of Work:
The successful applicant must be flexible to work on a rotating roster, which will include weekdays, weekends, and a mix of day or evening shifts. A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed, with opportunity for more hours when busy or for special events.
Only candidates who meet the following minimum requirements will be considered:
Proven experience working as a Chef de Partie in a fast-paced, commercial kitchen environment, (Minimum 3 years in a kitchen role, and 1-2 years in a CDP role.A relevant New Zealand qualification (NZ Certificate in Cookery Level 4 or higher) OR at least two years of relevant work experience.
Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, health and safety standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage a section effectively.
Experience working on a wood grill
Experience with Latin American food and cooking techniques preferred
