Production Manager

We import, repack and distribute quality FMCG brands. We operate from two sites and distribute products throughout New Zealand, as well as the various neighbouring islands.

This is a permanent, 40 hours per week position. Pay rate $30- $40 per hour.
In this role, you will oversee the end to end production process, from raw material procurement to final dispatch, including transporting goods between the sites.
  • Ensure raw materials are always on hand without overstocking
  • Maintain site’s quality and compliance requirements & documentations
  • Maintain accurate and timely production and equipments maintenance records
  • Conduct internal audits and assist with external regulatory audits and follow ups
  • Manage stock take, reconciliation & ordering of PPE
  • Oversee the replacement and repair tools & equipment.
  • Liaise with other staff about orders, products, deliveries and other relevant issues
  • Delegate responsibility to subordinate staff
  • Operate cars and trucks for safety checks, loading, servicing and deliveries
  • Oversee maintenance requirement to optimise efficiency and prevent equipments breakdown
  • Analyse data to discover problems and devise plans for improvements
  • Monitor work progress and performance, and adjust processes and resources to keep goals on track
  • Monitor and review storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock level
  • Provide constant feedback to the senior managers in regards to operational, functional and development
  • Ensure correct training is in place to deliver the work and maintain standards
  • Maintain standard of sanitation, maintenance, security & housekeeping of site & facility
  • Ensuring goods are stored appropriately to maintain Health & Safety, quality of goods and equipment

We operate 7 days a week, and so the ideal candidate must be flexible to operate varying shifts, which includes weekend. Given the nature of the role, whilst you will be based at our site located in Blockhouse Bay, transport of goods between the site is required in trucks.

To fill this position you must be able to meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in FMCG
  • Full NZ Class 2 driver's license
  • Ability to problem solve and think on your feet
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in doing quality workmanship
  • Able to multi-task and work towards a common goal
  • Comfortable with physical work - able to lift up to 20 kg
