Cafe Manager

This is a hands-on all rounder, management role, with weekend work. If you're a skilled barista with leadership experience and a passion for great coffee and community, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role:

As Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall running of the cafe- including staff coordination, training, customer experience, stock control, compliance, and general day-to-day operations.

A key part of this role is being hands-on and present over the weekends. This includes being the main contact for staff and managing any rostering or on-the-day issues that may arise. Full time minimum 30 hour position, not limited as the business might require you to do more.

Use data to drive results: Pull and interpret Loaded reports (sales, wage %, COGS, item mix) and take timely action.
Manage costs: Stock control, ordering, waste reduction, food cost/COGS management, menu engineering with the kitchen.
Suppliers & procurement: Negotiate pricing and terms; manage deliveries and product quality.
Marketing & socials: Plan simple, effective social content and promos that lift traffic and average spend.
Seasonal readiness: Forecast staffing, ordering, and menus for peak periods; keep calm when it’s pumping.

Compliance & safety: Food Control Plan, H&S, cleaning schedules, incident logs, and audit readiness.

Oversee full operations and support in house team
Manage operations and be the primary contact for staff.
Lead by example on shift, maintaining high coffee and service standards.
Assist with stock ordering, rostering, cash handling, and supplier relationships
Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace regulations
International hospitality exposure is helpful.

Must have knowledge about food as regular liaising with kitchen is needed

Requirements: Over 3 years of hospitality experience

Barista experience (essential)
Previous management or supervisor experience in a café or similar hospitality environment
Confident with staff leadership, rostering, and customer service
Familiarity with food safety/licensing (or willing to learn)
Organized, proactive, and solutions-focused

Must have worked with revenue and profits in hospitality business.

Cafe All Rounders

What you will do: Taking customer orders and handling money

Making all beverages (coffee, tea, frappes and other beverages)
Replenishing & rotating of stock
Undertaking general waiting duties for both food and/or beverage
Clean and maintain service area, coffee-making area and espresso machine
Cleaning dishes when required
Prepare Cabinet food and its presentation.

Preference will be given to someone who can work in the kitchen as well.

What you’ll need to succeed: Minimum 1 year barista experience and passionate about coffee

Recent experience working in a high volume cafe
Strong communicator and team player
People orientated with excellent customer service skills
