Our Robert Harris Hornby sunny cafe, filled with friendly staffs and loyal customers, is looking for a cheerful, experienced Cafe supervisor who can take the pressure and assist the manager and owner to lead the team with high performance and great customer service.

Job Description
  • Assist the Café Manager and Owner in leading and motivating a high-performing front-of-house team, reviewing controllable expenses, and monitoring labour costs
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and dining experiences are delivered consistently
  • Monitor inventory, ordering, and staffing to optimise performance
  • Handle day-to-day operations, including scheduling, training, and problem-solving, cash reconciliation
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain high food quality and efficiency. Assist creating new menu or cabinet food items with chefs and setting prices.
  • Performs opening, closing duties ,fills other positions and perform other duties as required by management
  • Oversee staff, delegate duties to them and evaluate their performance
  • Handles any customer complaints sensitively and diplomatically, to the customers satisfaction
  • Assist manager or owner for recruitment and training of staff, informs the café manager or owner of any operational inconsistencies, employee incidents, accidents, potential safety hazards, or any unusual or pertinent events.
  • Ensuring all the Food control plan and health safety plan have been completed as required standards
  • Takes control calmly and confidently in the event of an emergency (Fire Alarm activation, earthquake etc to ensure a controlled evacuation of the restaurant)
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and promotional initiatives
What we're looking for
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role of a busy café or restaurant
  • Reliable and trustworthy , must be able to work weekends.
  • Excellent time management skills, high energy level, positive, motivated and committed to consistently high quality standards
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a talent for building high-performing teams
  • Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and good communicator.
