Senior Sous Chef - Amberley
We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to provide effective leadership and support to our kitchen team during food service operations. This role involves assisting the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen activities, expediting orders to ensure both quality and presentation, and assuming additional responsibilities in the Head Chef’s absence to ensure that the kitchen staff operates smoothly.
As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for supervising food preparation and cooking processes, as well as participating in the hiring and training of new kitchen personnel. To thrive in this position, candidates must be capable of performing the following daily tasks and responsibilities:
- Preparing meals and food items according to guest specifications in a timely manner
- Accurately measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions
- Ensuring that kitchen staff comply with established standards, procedures, departmental policies, and sanitation regulations
- Utilizing kitchen tools and equipment such as knives, grills, ovens, steamers, and warmers in food preparation
- Managing kitchen inventory and ensuring that supplies are fresh and of high quality
- Monitoring food temperatures during cooking and ensuring proper storage afterward
- Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the workstation and kitchen equipment
- Overseeing kitchen opening, closing, and other assigned duties as directed by the Executive Chef
Candidates must possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in the culinary industry, with at least 2 years in a similar role. A Level 3 qualification in cookery or higher is also required.
