We’re excited about opening for evening service in the near future and are now seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our wine bar operations.

Must be available to work weekends and nights and be legally able to work in New Zealand.

In this role you will:
  • Plan and co-ordinate the daily operations of the restaurant
  • Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training and performance management
  • Create a respectful, welcoming atmosphere for our team and uphold morale.
  • Oversee the prep and presentation of all beverages
  • Work closely with our Head Chef to oversee the prep and presentation of food and to ensure our customers are happy
  • Maintain high standards for warm, friendly service that create memorable experiences that keep guests talking long after their visit.
  • Work with suppliers around pricing, stock items and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Manage labour budget and cost of goods
  • Manage beverage inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Manage transactions including cash handling and daily reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements

Competencies: Mandatory

  • A current LCQ and Managers Certificate.
  • 2 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager in a similar sized venue
  • A willingness to learn and a great attitude
  • Welcoming personality and immaculate presentation
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to hit deadlines/timeframes
  • Ability to lead and influence others to get results, both in your direct team and outside it
  • You must model and lead “above the line” behavior displaying ownership, accountability and responsibility
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
  • Understanding of managing COGs and labour cost
  • Understanding of pricing recipes.
  • Ability to remain calm and make good decisions when under pressure
Desirable
  • A deep knowledge of wine and beer
  • An understanding of Profit and Loss Statements.
  • Barista experience and knowledge.
