Lakeland Steel Ltd has a team of 60 staff who are passionate about engineering, design and structural products. For over 43 years we have provided engineering and design services in New Zealand in sawmilling, materials handling, scrap metal, fertiliser suppliers and the tourism industries.
This role is a key part of our business. The job is a hand's on role involved in the operation of CNC bandsaws, profile cutter and Beamline for our busy fabrication workshops.

The role:
We are looking for a Steel Precut operator/Plasma Operator to join our motivated team.This role is a key part of our business. The job is a hand's on role involved in the operation of CNC bandsaws, profile cutter and Beamline for our busy fabrication workshops.
You will also be required to operate a fork hoist, T Lift and gantry crane to unload trucks, checking of inwards goods is required and handle and store our materials. Accuracy and consistency are important to this role to ensure systems and processes are followed, steel usage is optimised, measurements are accurate and record keeping is excellent.
Attributes required for the position:- Previous experience working in a steel precut operation desirable
- Mechanical mind-set, able to spot when a machine maintenance is required
- Great attitude, reliable work ethic, team focus
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test and provide employment references
- Experience in running a profile cutter and Beamline would be advantageous
