Skilled Chinese Cuisine Chef Wanted

A well-established Chinese restaurant in Wellington, is seeking experienced full-time Chinese Chefs (minimum 30 hours per week) to join our dynamic team.

We are looking for positive, ambitious individuals who are confident in their skills, able to take on responsibilities independently, and remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment. As our restaurant operates six days a week, offering both lunch and dinner services, you will be required to work across a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and split shifts.

• Pay rate: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
• Minimum one year of proven experience working in a commercial kitchen, specializing in authentic Chinese cuisine.
• Availability for flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and split shifts.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality food standards.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to contribute new ideas and gain the respect of the team.

• Prepare, season, and cook dishes at a fast pace while maintaining high quality.
• Prepare meals for customers with special dietary requirements.
• Check and monitor stock levels, ensuring food quality and freshness.
• Preserve and store food correctly, including freezing as needed.
• Enforce hygiene and sanitation regulations, maintaining a safe work environment.
• Plan and design new recipes in line with customer expectations and culinary trends.
• Train kitchen staff on new recipes, cooking techniques, and equipment use; supervise food preparation activities.
