Forbes Homemade Gourmet is a vibrant and dynamic eatery known for our classic frozen meals, made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients and cooked in ovens just like yours at home.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled chef to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality dishes and memorable dining experiences.

• Plan, prepare, and present a wide range of dishes to a high standard.

• Supervise kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow during service.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen in line with NZ food safety regulations.
• Manage stock levels, place orders, and minimise food waste.
• Train and support junior kitchen staff and maintain a positive team environment.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining consistency and quality in all meals.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen. You must have experience in both cooking and baking as our menu consists of dishes and baked goods.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Food Control Plan knowledge preferred).
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Culinary qualification preferred but not essential.
• You will be offered a permanent position and be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. You must be available to work flexible hours including late nights, weekends and public holidays, up to 45 hours per week.

What We Offer: Supportive team environment

Competitive pay - You will be paid between $26 to $35 per hour based on your skills and attributes.
