Paeroa | Full-Time | Monday–Friday

We’re looking for an experienced, trade-qualified Car Service Manager to lead our busy workshop.

This is not a desk-only management role. You’ll be working on the workshop floor daily, carrying out servicing and repairs alongside the team, while also overseeing workflow, quality control, and customer communication.

If you’re a qualified technician who enjoys leadership, takes pride in high standards, and wants to step into a key role within a well-established, locally owned automotive business, this could be the perfect next move.

About the Role

As our Service Manager, you’ll balance hands-on mechanical work with workshop coordination and team leadership. You’ll set the tone for efficiency, professionalism, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs
  • Issuing WOFs (Warrant of Fitness) – Issuing Authority essential
  • Managing daily workshop workflow and job allocation
  • Supporting and mentoring technicians
  • Liaising with customers and providing clear explanations and quotes
  • Overseeing invoicing and job completion
  • Ensuring compliance with NZTA requirements
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety and workshop presentation
  • Driving productivity and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
  • Fully qualified automotive technician (essential)
  • Current WOF Issuing Authority (essential)
  • Proven workshop experience in diagnostics and repairs
  • Previous leadership experience or senior technician ready to step up
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage workflow while remaining productive on the tools
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • Pride in workmanship and customer service
What We Offer
  • Monday–Friday hours – no weekend work
  • A supportive, tight-knit team environment
  • Competitive remuneration reflecting both trade and leadership responsibility
  • Stable, long-term opportunity within a respected local business
  • Great location with easy access and parking
  • Team culture that values hard work and good humour (and the occasional staff BBQ ??)

This is an ideal role for a senior mechanic who wants the next step in their career without leaving the workshop floor behind.

If this sounds like you, apply now with your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and current WOF status.
