**About the Family Stores:**
The Salvation Army has a nationwide network of over 130 Family Stores that sell a range of quality donated goods, ranging from clothing, furniture, linen and homeware. We aren't your typical retail store, no two days are the same in terms of our customers, volume of donations received, or what you may find while processing and pricing goods to sell.
**About the Role:**
The Senior Retail Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Team Leader and contributing to the overall success of the Family Store. This position is designed for someone with strong retail experience, leadership potential, and a passion for helping others thrive in a team environment.
Working closely with the Team Leader, the Senior Retail Assistant helps ensure that daily operations run smoothly and that team members are motivated, trained, and meeting expectations in line with national Family Store operational standards.
**What will your responsibilities be:**- Support the Team Leader in overseeing daily store operations
- Assist with training, coaching, and motivating team members
- Help implement best practice processes and ensure compliance with operational requirements
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of stock quality, pricing, and presentation
- Act as a role model for excellent customer service and teamwork
- Step into leadership responsibilities when the Team Leader is unavailable
- Work collaboratively with the Area Manager and Team Leader to support strategic initiatives
- Experienced in retail or customer service environments
- Confident in leading by example and supporting others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organised, proactive, and solution-focused
- Passionate about community impact and the mission of the Family Store

This role is **permanent/full time** and **hours worked will be 40 per week.**
The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between **$28.95 and $29.85**
